MICROBLADING
Microblading is a restorative inking method that fills in thin eyebrows to make them look fuller. In contrast to a traditional tattoo, which is of permanent nature, the colour rendered form a microblading procedure is not permanent as the pigment is not implanted very deep into the skin like a normal tattoo. Microblading is a great option for those looking for a semi-permanent solution that offers natural looking and well defined eyebrows.
Who can get this done?
Our microblading specialist works with a wide range of shades which can create a set of fuller looking brows on any skin tone. Also, fun fact, if you lost your brows due to alopecia, you’re still a candidate for microblading. Those who have thin or no eyebrows because of overplucking, alopecia , chemotherapy or because of skin infections are also great candidates for this procedure.
Procedure
The first session with our specialist will take about 2.5-3 hours. During this session, the brow technician will shape your brows as per your liking and requirement. Once you are happy with the shape, the specialist will scratch in fine, short strokes of the colour into your epidermis layer of the skin in a manner that these strokes resemble hair. This is done with the help of a handheld device which uses a blade consisting of a number of tiny needles.
The follow-up session will take place after 4-6 weeks where touch-ups if necessary, will be completed which usually takes approximately 1.5-2 hours.
After the Procedure
Follow these steps to properly take care of your skin after microblading:
- Contact with water and soap should be avoided on the treated area up to 10 days
- Avoid using cosmetics on or around the area treated for a minimum of one week
- Scratching, picking at scabs in the eyebrow area should be avoided
- Avoid activities that would lead to sweating
- Application of medicated cream/ointment (if prescribed)
Healing
The treated area should typically heal within 15-20 days. However, the healing process depends on various other factors that are vary from person to person like age, overall health and type of skin. It is important to know that the appearance of the newly treated eyebrows will change for the two weeks. Touch-ups are necessary every 12 to 18 months. Each session requires some healing time as well.
Results
Depending on your skin type, the results of microblading usually last for 18 to 30 months. It is imperative that the clients come back after four weeks for a touch-up and to check-in in order to make sure they’re happy with the end result.
