MICRO-NEEDLING

What Is Micro-needling?

Micro-needling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy is a cosmetic procedure which involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The resultant small wounds cause your body to produce more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. This procedure helps in tackling issues like Acne and Acne Scars,  Hair loss, Hyperpigmentation, Large pores, Fine lines and wrinkles

Procedure

A session takes 10-20 minutes, depending on how big the area is. Most people need 4-6 treatments to see a difference. Before starting the procedure, a layer of numbing cream will be applied to the area which is to be treated. With the help of a pen-shaped tool having tiny needles, the dermatologist will roll the tool on your face making small wounds. There’s usually no bleeding during micro-needling. But deep micro-needling treatments may cause the skin to bleed or bruise.

Post the procedure, the dermatologist will apply a serum or cream. These cuts help the body’s internal healing process by sending collagen to heal the tiny wounds. Collagen is what helps fill in and smooth out wrinkles.

Healing time

It may take days or weeks to heal, depending on how deep the needles pierce your skin. You may experience slight pain after the procedure, and your skin may be red for a few days. Your skin may feel tight and flake a bit while it heals.
